Win-It-Wednesday: SamMills Gluten-Free Pasta
It’s the start of the New Year and many folks are looking for new and exciting budget-friendly dinner ideas. One of my favorite ways to make a delicious dinner-on-a-budget is by using gluten-free pastas made by SamMills.
SamMill’s Pastas are made from corn. They are available in most grocery stores and come in tons of different pasta shapes… some of my favorite include Penne Rigate, Tubetti, Lasagna Corte, and Bucatini.
The SamMills Pastas are also made of 100% Natural Ingredients, are free of dairy, eggs and gluten, and are low-glycemic, GMO Free and Kosher Pave. I also love that most of pastas cook-up in about 10 minutes, so dinner can be served in a jiff.
And if you are looking for some inspiring gluten-free pasta dishes to start off this New Year check out some of our favorite pasta recipes on BeFreeForMe.com:
Gluten-Free Pasta with Brussels Sprouts, Pancetta and Olives
Gluten-Free Rotini with Red Bell Peppers, Fresh Mozzarella & Arugula

All of the delicious pasta recipes that await being made are the reason I am so excited that this week’s Win-It-Wednesday prize is SamMills! A total of two (yes, 2!) BeFreeForMe.com members will be randomly selected to win a 4-pack prize of one of my favorite SamMills Pastas… the Bucatini… and for those of you that haven’t tried Bucatini yet… you must give it a try! I’m always a sucker for spaghetti but penne comes in as a close second. In summer I like the shells for pasta salad…….
December 31st, 2014 at 6:45 am
I mostly mix different patterns together! Say spaghetti + ziti + penne!
December 31st, 2014 at 9:00 am
I think the noodles or the wavy noodles would be awesome! We haven’t had noodles since we had to go Gluten Free a few years ago! I’m imagining the recipes now!

Ducks. The wife of a fellow in my office is allergic to wheat. She doesn’t care for the rice pasta but really likes Sam Mills pasta. He brought in some pasta salad she had made with the Ducks and it looked really neat. The rice pasta gets kind of hard, brittle, when it gets cold but he says the texture of the Sam Mills Ducks is like regular pasta. I went out and got some but haven’t tried them yet. Looking forward to it.

I’d like to try the Lasagna Corte.

the traditional penne

My wife loves pasta, but since we cook GF and have limited choices at the local grocery store we don’t prepare it often enough for her wishes. I’ve never seen this brand before. I love the name (pasta of gold!) I’d love to try the Penne.

I would love to try any of them. But if I can only choose one I think it would have to be the Lasagna Corti.
December 31st, 2014 at 3:11 pm
Lasagna Corte would be fantastic for me. I have not found any Lasagna noodle yet to make my mother’s fabulous homemade recipe. That would be great for our family as we have 4 people with celiac disease.

The lasagna corti looks best to me. I’ve been looking unsuccessfully for non-wheat lasagna, and I like that this isn’t huge noodles like lasagna usually is.

Lasagna Corti:)
January 2nd, 2015 at 2:05 am
Nice selection of pasta. They all look good, but I would like to try the wavy noodles because most brands offered in the stores do not have a noodle option.

The Lasagna Corti looks the best to me.
January 4th, 2015 at 6:59 pm
We’ve had their penne before & liked it. I’ve never seen this brand’s Bucatini, Quadrati or Lasagna Corti in stores, but would be very interested in trying them!
We’re rather new to being Gluten-free, and finding it a bit challenging, especially my 8-year-old son, whose conditions started us on this journey. Being of Italian descent, pasta used to be a staple of our diet and a go-to a few nights a week. Finding a pasta with a decent texture is important to us.
Thanks!

Thanks very much for making this offer! The penne looks best to me but I have never tried bucatini & would be interested in doing so. I would probably have it with pesto as you suggest. I love pesto.

January 8th, 2015 at 11:31 am
I love the shells!
January 8th, 2015 at 12:24 pm
I love pasta — gluten-free corn pasta is the best — and the Tubetti is a new variety that I’ve never seen offered in G-F. I am imagining it as a mac n’ cheese with the sauce filling those little tubes. Yum.
January 8th, 2015 at 3:04 pm
wavy noodles…lasagna corte. 🙂
January 8th, 2015 at 4:52 pm
I would definitely want noodles: either the square of wavy. I haven’t had these types of noodles since going gluten free.
January 8th, 2015 at 10:36 pm
Would love to try any of them. I love pasta.
January 9th, 2015 at 9:48 am
Penne for me!
January 9th, 2015 at 12:53 pm
My favorite would be Lasagna Corte noodle which I could use to make my mother’s homemade lasagna.
January 9th, 2015 at 7:36 pm
I would love to try the bucatini! I’ve never seen a gluten free of this type, & haven’t eaten bucatini since prior to finding out I need to be gluten free. Thanks for this giveaway!
January 9th, 2015 at 9:29 pm
I love a Penne Pasta…I like a hearty pasta
January 12th, 2015 at 11:36 am
I’m not sure about corn, but I am sure wheat doesn’t agree with me. I’d like to try the ziti.
January 12th, 2015 at 12:07 pm
I’d love to have lasagna again, so the lasagna corte sounds great!
January 12th, 2015 at 1:29 pm
The wavy noodles look like a fun way to serve noodles with any sauce! I love SamMills pasta because they hold their shape very well!
January 12th, 2015 at 9:34 pm
I have tried this brand and it is VERY delicious – and I love the bucatini – the sauce fills the holes – really great for mac and cheese!
January 13th, 2015 at 8:56 am
All of them look good ! I love all kinds of pasta !
January 13th, 2015 at 1:30 pm
Spaghetti has always been my favorite since I was a little girl:)
January 13th, 2015 at 1:32 pm
I like the penne as sauce sticks better to the pasta!
January 14th, 2015 at 11:45 am
Traditional spaghetti works best for me.
January 28th, 2015 at 12:44 pm
I love pasta and the kind made with corn is the best! I like penne best…
