Win-It-Wednesday: Tovolo Rocket Pop Molds
Summer is here and the heat is on! When I was a kid I couldn’t wait for “Pony Boy” to come galloping down my Grandmother’s road so me and my two sisters could get an icy cold and sticky sweet Popsicle.
Nowadays I still crave these summertime treats, but was searching for a “big kid” version of the too sweet version of my childhood favorites. That is when I decided to take matters into my own hands and make my own gluten-free frozen treats… with a grown-up twist!
My inspiration to make my own Popsicles came from the Good Housekeeping website which features a bunch of recipes for make-your-own Popsicles… all in big-kid flavors, including Blackberry-Rose Ice Pops, Coconut Carrot Ice Pops, Melon Pops, Raspberry Buttermilk Ice Pops and, of course, the “Adult Only” Happy Hour Ice Pops!
The device that I used to make my own Popsicles was a Tovolo Rocket Pop Mold, which is the Cadillac, top-notch and big-gun variety when it comes to the world of iced pop molds. In fact, I loved my Tovolo Rocket Pop Molds so much I decided to go out get two more for the winners of this Win-It-Wednesday on BeFreeForMe.com!
The Tovolo Rocket Pop Molds let you make homemade freeze pops so easily. They are dishwasher safe, food safe and are BPA free. They are also reusable, which reduces waste. But the best part about the Tovolo molds are the fun that you (and your kids too!) can have making your very own homemade gluten-free Popsicles. Plus, these pop molds are real money savers! (And did I mention the super-cool rocket shape? What is better than a Popsicle shaped like a rocket?!)
All of these out of this world reasons are why I am so excited to share the Tovolo Rockey Pop Molds to two BeFreeForMe.com members. One (1) winner will be randomly selected from the entries received before Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 11:59 PM EST, and one (1) more winner will be randomly selected to win from the entries received between Wednesday, June 24 and Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 11:59PM. SO – make sure you enter two times to win!
How can you win?

Favorite childhood summer memory is drinking ice cold cola with my mom on a hot summer day on the front porch. Then as an it adult it was watching my kids flag down the ice cream man except it’s sad my youngest can’t get anything safe with his food allergies. These would be great treats to the boring ordinary shaped homemade Popsicles he gets now. With a rocket pop I won’t feel bad letting the older kids go back to flagging down the ice cream man.

When school was out, our family (except for Daddy, who had to stay in town to work) went to our grandparents’ house for the summer to help on their farm. We helped prime tobacco, (which I hated), but also helped bring in the cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, peppers, corn, and potatoes, which I loved. We also got the eggs from under the hens, slopped the hogs, fed the cats, etc. Every day, we would walk a mile to the small country store with my grandfather to each get a Pepsi and stick ice cream along with any dry goods my grandmother needed. Those were the days. A whole lot of fun.

As a kid we spent a lot of time up at Mt. Saint Helen’s camping and fishing in Spirit lake. When it erupted in 1980 we lost all of that. I would have loved to take my kids up there and my grandkids.

My favorite summer activity memory is spending the summer at the lake with my grandmother and brother. In particular, my dad, brother and I would take her golf cart after she went to bed and take it all over the trails, or make our own trails! Of course, we would have to clean all the evidence off the golf cart before she got up in the morning, like weeds and mud!

My grandparents had a cottage along the river and we would sit in lounge chairs reading, feeling the cool breeze come off the water. A local huckster would come by and my grandmother would buy tomatoes for tomato sandwiches and wax beans which we would sit and take he ends off in a bucket at the picnic table before boiling for supper.
