Win-It-Wednesday: Moondance Heavenly Desserts

After having numerous BeFreeForMe.com members send us email raving about Moondance Gluten-free Desserts, I just had to give them a try myself. I just wish all these members had also told me that these desserts are very difficult to stop eating after just one slice!

Made in a gluten-free facility by Shelley Ritchie, who was diagnosed with a wheat and gluten allergy several years ago, this gal knows how to bake! After not being able to find a truly decadent gluten-free dessert and with her frustrations building, Shelley decided to perfect her own recipes into a magical gluten-free line of products.

Moondance products will bring you to the moon and back again.

Some of the products offered in the Moondance line are Chewy Fudge, Walnut or Buttery Brownies; or the Moondance Cheesecakes, some of the flavors include the Classic Cheesecake, Raspberry Ribbon Cheesecake or my favorite the Butter Toffee Cheesecake (made with handmade butter toffee crumbles – YUM!). All of the cheesecakes are made with a shortbread pecan crust.

Watch out Cheesecake Factory!

Prepare yourself by unbuckling your belt and re-adjust it a few notches, and enter to win this week’s BeFreeForMe’s Win-It-Wednesday sponsored by the amazingly decadent Moondance Heavenly Desserts. Two (Yes 2!) Lucky BeFreeForMe members will win a dozen chewy, fudgy brownies (6 of the fudge & 6 of the walnut).

I had to start a gluten free diet. Not only that but I had to give up lots of other things in my diet. I have
lost over 50 pounds, after beginning my diet around two months ago. My heavenly thing is I love steak,
and have it ever few days. Other days, for meat I eat fresh fish, etc. I have never had any bread yet,
but yesterday purchased a gluten free bread mix. I am going to make it tomorrow. I did try a gluten
free cake mix, it was good but I had trouble putting it down. My desserts so far have consisted of
fresh grapes, apples, oranges, and bananas. I would love to try your gluten free dessert. It sounds like
it would be sooooooo good. I hope I win one.

“what is so heavenly in your life that it brings you to the moon… and back again!”

Honestly, it’s the relief that after years of damage to my organs I’ve found the cause. To be told by doctors that I may never know what was causing my body to fail, year after year was torture. I’ve been gluten free since December and I can already tell the difference in my health. To have a chance to heal and stop the damage is like a trip into the cosmos.

What is most heavenly to me is being with my family. We were just hit hard with the snowstorm and my son and his family had to move in with us for a few days as we had a generator. I was to the moon and back putting my grandsons to bed and kissing them goodnight each night. I am now babysitting and did the same. You should see my smile now – as big as the moon!

My grandchildren. Then when I saw this give-a-way I thought especially of my 9 yr old granddaughter with celiac and she is a chocoholic. She was diagnosed 1 yr ago and would just love a good old plain brownie! ! ! Thanks.

  44. Debra K Dove Says:

My heavenly thing for the day is waking up and getting dressed for a doctor appointment and not being able to wear my clothes, since I lost weight they are too big. I did find something from back a while
ago that was new, and I couldn’t wear it before. I do not want to go shopping until more weight is lost
since I still have that much more weight to lose as I have lost already. I also love to snuggle up with my
    kittys.

  45. Linda Says:

What sends me to the moon and back? Knowing my teenage son (reads Agatha Christie) and daughter (reads historical Christian novels) both enjoy reading as much as my husband and I do – it is hard to tear them away sometimes!!

  46. Maria Says:

This cheesecake, just tasted it for the first time at the knoxville, tn gluten fair and loved it. It was way better than any regular cheesecake I have every tasted. We are trying to get it into our local stores!!

  47. Gwendolyn Says:

Being married to someone who is kind and never tries to hurt me. It gives me such a great feeling.

  48. Debra Gowlland Says:

It’s the little things that bring me to the moon and back. My children giggling and laughing, walks on beautiful days, quality time with family and friends. To me it’s the little things that matter the most.

  49. Janet LaRue Says:

Life is heavenly right now…my family has it’s health, spring is coming and I am thankful that I wake up everyday and am able to function. Thankful that the diagnosis of celiac disease for my daughter and myself was finally given so we know what we are dealing with and am so happy that there are people out there just like us that don’t need to struggle because we all have each other. It’s heavenly that Kathleen does this for all of us…gives us hope, a few laughs, tears, and free things! And of coarse what is truly heavenly is finding that perfect sweet snack…taking that first bite, having your senses recognize sheer decedence….and saying life couldn’t get any better than this!

  50. Tam Says:

My family and spending time with them! Also my husband surprised me with gf french toast the other day for breakfast. It was really a treat!

  51. Karla Thompson Says:

Your cheesecake is so heavely it always takes me to the moon when I eat one. Also my health is good and my families health is good and we all love being on a gluten free diet. Its a heavely place and when we stay gluten free its just like I think it woulf feel to be launched to the moon. What a wonderful feeling. I would not want to go back to eating gluten and being sick. It’s a wonderful thing to have a disease that can be CURED by eliminating gluten from your diet forever, no other disease can say that. What a true heavely experience, one that will always lift you to the moon.

  52. Anne Anthony Says:

What is heavenly to me is my son who recently was diagnosed with CD as well as our circle of friends and family. Instead of rebelling and making this hard for all of us, he has done just the opposite. He reads the labels, checks his safe/unsafe foods lists on a regular basis. He has made this transition so easily, he amazes me! The support we have gotten from his friends, our family and our school has been great. They have accomodated us to whatever we need.

  53. Jessica Says:

My husband was diagnosed with CD a little over four years ago and what’s so heavenly in my life that it brings me to the moon… and back again is being able to make or buy him things that make him forget (at least mostly) that he’s not eating “like everybody else.” If I can do that I feel I’ve accomplished a lot and thankfully it’s getting easier thanks to people and companies that are working to make more food for people with CD that actually tastes like it’s supposed to. We’re also thankful for people who are spreading the word about CD and increasing awareness. Thanks for helping make our lives better!
