WIN-It-Wednesday: Rudi’s Gluten-Free Bakery NEW Tortillas
I just love it when one of my all-time favorite gluten-free brands comes out with new products. Like last Spring when Rudi’s came out with their hamburger and hotdog rolls. THAT was a treat!
That’s why I was so excited after trying the newest edition to Rudi’s Gluten-Free Breads family of products: TORTILLLAS!
These tortillas are delicious. Soft, pliable and dying to be wrapped around your favorite fillings.
And if right about now you are thinking to yourself: “What’s the big deal? There are other gluten-free tortillas on the market” – Get THIS! … They come in flavors… yes FLAVORS! Besides the versatile Plain Tortillas, there are also 2 other varieties: Spinach and Fiesta. They all top out at 5 grams of fiber per serving, and are “made with stuff you can pronounce and ingredients you recognize.”
The Fiesta Tortilla is made with whole grains spiced up with bell pepper, jalapeno, onion and garlic flavors. This spicy wrap is calling Mexican food and spice-addicts everywhere. Hola Fiesta!
The Spinach Tortilla is perfect for the veggie lovers in all of us. Pack it with a soft spreadable herbed cheese (or cheese substitute) and layer it with fresh cut veggies; or enjoy sliced turkey, tomatoes and cheddar for a traditional lunchtime treat.
And let’s not forget the Plain Tortilla… although not as fancy and spiced up as the others this wrap is the most versatile of the round-up. I love to make breakfast sandwich wraps… stuffed with egg, ham, and a slice of good old American cheese. A perfect wake-me-up!
I am so thrilled that Rudi’s Gluten-Free Bakery will be sponsoring the next two week’s Win-it-Wednesday’s on BeFreeForMe.com!
A total of FOUR (Yes… 4!) BeFreeForMe members will be selected to win a gift pack of Rudi’s Gluten-Free Tortillas – one of each of the three flavor. Two winners will be randomly selected from the entries received before Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 11:59 PM EST, and two more winners will be randomly selected to win from the entries received between Wednesday, May 23 and Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 11:59PM. SO – make sure you enter to win two times!
How can you WIN?
EASY!
Reply to this blog and tell me what Rudi’s Tortilla variety (Plain, Spinach or Fiesta) sounds the best to you, and what you would wrap up in it (Me? I’m sticking with my Breakfast Wrap mentioned above!)
Good luck, Thank you Rudi’s for the wraps and rolls …and as always,
Be Free!
P.S. Also, make sure you check out the campaign that Rudi’s is holding on their Facebook page . It’s called Spread the Bread. When you download a $1.00 off coupon, you can designate what National Celiac Organization you want Rudi’s to donate a $1.00 too. It’s a great promotion – so check it out!

I really love your multigrain G.F. bread, and the cost is so much cheaper than most!
May 16th, 2012 at 6:12 am
The fiesta sounds pretty good to me. I would probably try all three flavors though. Just hoping it’s a tortilla that doesn’t crack and fall apart.

My 7 year old daughter has Celiac and I think she would LOVE the plain ones. She has really been missing bean and cheese burritos. She also loves egg and sausage breakfast burritos. Unfortunately her taste buds don’t care for corn tortillas:( She would be so excited to try these new tortillas! I can’t wait to here if we win the gift pack.
May 16th, 2012 at 8:30 am
Oh, I will always go for spinach wraps with grilled chicken, sliced tomato, feta or goat cheese, romaine or oak leaf lettace and a touch of Bolthouse Yogurt Ranch dressing. Yummy!! I can’t wait for spinach tortillas…and the other flavors will be great too. Thanks!
May 16th, 2012 at 8:43 am
The fiesta flavor sounds yummy. When I use tortillas to make burritos I almost always go with black beans. I sort of have an obsession with them. I usually give them a few pulses in a processor first to give them a little more body. Then I would also add chopped red onion, mango and cilantro. Let’s not forget salsa and cheddar jack cheese!
May 16th, 2012 at 8:48 am
I think that I would stick with regular. They would be the most versitile.
May 16th, 2012 at 9:17 am
The Fiesta Wrap sounds delicious! My favorite wrap filling is beans and cheese, and I bet it would be amazing in that one! I wish my stores carried these!
May 16th, 2012 at 9:44 am
THIS IS AWESOME!!!
I’m a huge fan of chipotle and was super sad when I couldn’t eat the burritos anymore. I would love to sneak one of these suckers into a Chipotle, buy a burrito bowl, and make my OWN burrito!
OR
with the spinach one, I would put some hummus, roasted red peppers, maybe a few slices of avocado, some lettuce and sliced turkey. YUMMY
May 16th, 2012 at 10:52 am
I’m excited to try all the flavors, it’s always wonderful to see new gluten free products coming out. The plain tortillas sound wonderful for sandwich wraps – my eleven year old daughter has Celiac Disease and making lunches for her can be a real exercise in creativity! Other wraps we’ve tried have not been desirable so it would be great to have a new option. Thank you, Rudis!!
May 16th, 2012 at 11:01 am

May 16th, 2012 at 2:34 pm
Plain sounds good to me as long as they are soft and pliable.
May 16th, 2012 at 3:46 pm
I would like the plain flavor because it is more versatile! I could make a sweet wrap with ricotta, berries, and honey or a savory wrap with turkey or eggs!
May 16th, 2012 at 4:31 pm
The spinach one sounds awesome! I eat my cold cut “sandwiches” on corn tortillas everyday and would love to try something with more flavor. It didn’t say how big they are though!I hope they are bigger than the 6″ corn tortillas!
May 16th, 2012 at 7:10 pm

May 17th, 2012 at 12:16 pm
I would use the spinach one for my own breakfast burrito with eggs, onions, broccoli and lemon juice.
May 17th, 2012 at 8:18 pm

May 18th, 2012 at 10:28 am
As soon as they appear in our local grocery stores, I will try the plain tortilla because it is the base for so many recipes. THEN I will try the Fiesta and the Spinach tortillas. And, with each, I will be hoping to experience the amazing Rudi quality!

May 21st, 2012 at 7:08 am
It would be the plain wrap because it would be so much more versatile. You could use it for a breakfast inspired wrap, such as scrambled eggs with cheese, crumbled turkey bacon and fresh cilantro or lunch or dinner with some grilled chicken strips, mexican 4 cheese, salsa and guacomole. Sounds delish!!!
May 21st, 2012 at 8:23 am
I would love plain with genoa, provolone, lettuce, tomato, oregano, and mustard.
May 21st, 2012 at 9:38 am
Trying all three is the only way to compare — the possibilities are endless. The wonderful quality about tortillas is that they can be frozen and then defrosted and used at will. The “stale” issue isn’t there the way it is with bread!
May 21st, 2012 at 4:22 pm
I miss spinach wraps! Before I knew I had Celiac Disease I would eat those instead of bread. I would fill it with my mother’s homemade chicken salad recipe! YUM 🙂

May 22nd, 2012 at 3:12 pm
Spinach please! I so miss being able to wrap up whatever I have in my kitchen to make a killer (and actually substantial) lunch. This usually includes hummus, all veggies, black beans, quinoa, etc. There’s no way that all of that deliciousness will fit into the old (new since celiac disease) go to, which are corn tortillas.
May 23rd, 2012 at 6:08 am
Fiesta sounds delicious!
May 23rd, 2012 at 6:45 am
