Win-It-Wednesday: Sol Cuisine
Memorial Day is a memory and the “official” start of summer is here! I welcome this time of year when it comes to dinnertime. The grill gets turned on and cooking is simple. Hamburgers, steaks and chicken.
But often during the summer I find myself eating more meat than I should. That is why I love the Sol Cuisine vegetarian burgers for a healthy grilling switch-up. It’s good (and oh so easy… ) to go meatless on the grill.
I love Sol Cuisine because they make a lot of vegetarian products that are also gluten-free. If you are searching for a veggie burger that is gluten-free Sol Cuisine is the product for you. (Note: So many other veggie burgers are full of gluten… so beware!)
My favorite is the sol Cuisine Spicy Black Bean Burger. With only 90 calories, packed with protein and only 1.5 grams of fat this burger is a keeper. Spicy, moist and full of flavor these burgers will have your gluten-free hamburger buns singing, and you asking for an encore!
Other gluten-free Sol Cuisine varieties are the Original Burger, Mushroom Rice Burger, Organic Falafel Burgers and Breakfast Patties; as well as the Veggie Crumbles and the Organic BBQ Tofu Ribs.
I also like that all these products have achieve a Non-GMO (genetically modified organism) Project verification which is huge… since an upwards of 70% of North American soybeans are genetically modified.
All these meatless reasons are why I am so thrilled that Sol Cuisine is this Win-It-Wednesday sponsor on BeFreeForMe.com.
A total of four (4) BeFreeForMe members will be selected to win a prize-pack of three (3) FREE product coupons. I love Sol Cuisine Organic Falafel Burgers because I am OBSESSED with chickpeas. I like to serve my falafel burger on flat bread topped with arugula, red onions and yogurt sauce.
To make the yogurt sauce all you have to do is mix some healthy, protein packed Greek yogurt with shredded cucumber, chopped garlic and some dill. I use dried dill to make it a little easier.
Oh yeah, don’t forget to serve the falafel burger with a side of sweet potato fries!! (Hint: toss cut sweet potatoes with EVOO, Salt, Pepper and Paprika…you won’t believe the taste!!)

Garden fresh pico de gallo comes to mind. I make mine with equal parts finely diced tomato, red onion, and cilantro, with a pinch of salt and pepper and squeeze of lime; on top of the burger and finish with a slice of jalapeno and some crumbled Manchego cheese, some lovely refried pintos on the side. Yum.
