WIN-It-Wednesday: Laurel Hill Tortilla Chips
If you’re looking to add a little excitement to your snacking habits give Laurel Hill Tortilla Chips a try.
With flavors like Olive & Caper, Multigrain, Sea Salt & Lime, and Pepita & Spice, Laurel Hill Tortillas jumped out at me while strolling down my local grocers snack aisle. The crisp & clean look, as well as the prominent Gluten Free wording right on the front of the packaging had me stopping my shopping cart right in my tracks.
These tortilla chips are so good I just had to share.
So far I have tried the Olive & Caper and the Sea Salt & Lime varieties. Both are excellent, with tangy and unique flavors. Next up is the Pepita & Spice, which I can’t wait to try.
Laurel Hill Tortilla Chips are not only gluten-free, but nut-free and all natural. The Laurel Hill company is also a family business that spans 3 generations that has been around since 1965.
The Laurel Hill logo is, “Share the pleasure of good food”. So, in the spirit of their mantra they are sharing with one LUCKY BeFreeForMe member a mixed case of their tortilla chips.
How do you win?
Easy! Just reply to this blog and tell us how you “share the pleasure of good food” (Me? I get to taste test and monitor BeFreeForMe’s recipe section – tough job, I know!).
One random winner will be chosen. All entries must be submitted by Sunday, 08/02/09, by 12:00 midnight EST.
Good Luck… and as always…

I like to enjoy food by sharing it with others. When I cook something good I want to feed it to others, even if its something especially for my gluten-cootie-free life. Its hard for me to make a meal just for me so I tend to at least feed my boyfriend when I am at school.

I love cooking and I love holding parties and cooking for other people. I love to share the pleasure of good food by sharing food with others! These chips sound amazing. 🙂

I am always experimenting with my baking. I am constantly “tweeking” old gluten recipes to make them gluten free. I always share my creations to find out if people like them. I love it when non-celiacs compliment my goodies and want the recipe!

We like to invite our friends over for dinner and cook our latest favorite meal and I put up pictures and recipes on our blog of our latest cooking exersions.

I love baking, so now that I’m gluten-free, I am learning creative ways to make some of my family’s favorites without the gluten. They are great about being my guinea pigs and love to lick the bowl!

I tell everyone I know when I find a new gluten free food that tastes fantastic. I think I’m really trying to convert them to a gluten free diet.
July 29th, 2009 at 10:44 am
I share my pleasure with food with my family primarily. Four of us are on a GF menu….but the rest enjoy it also. And we love chips with salsa or melted cheese. It is one of our favorites when we go north for the weekend or an extended stay.
I’d love to try the Pepita & Spice especially…but all of them.
I’d love to know where I can find it…store closest to Marshfield WI.

I love baking for other people and then get the shocked looks when I tell them it’s gluten free. 🙂 I brought brownies to a dinner party three weeks ago, and everyone there said how great they were. Nothing makes me happier than cooking for others and being able to join the fun.

Since eating out is hard to enjoy, I like to share the news when I find a place that’s Celiac friendly for the whole family. I recently discovered on a trip to Hershey Park that they have a Gluten-free menu at the self-serve family restaurant near the ampitheatre. Pizza’s, Hamberger’s, Hot Dog’s, made with Gluten-free rolls, dough and cooked seperately to avoid cross contamination. It was the best Cheeseburger I’ve had in years! Hershey Park Happy!!

I’m still new at this GF lifestyle. But, I do love to try new recipes and share them, hopefully with good reviews!

We make healthy food that tastes so good, non-gluten and non-health food fans ask for seconds-and then start seeing healthy eating in a new light, as something pleasurable rather than a process of ‘enduring’ plain rice cakes and tofu.

I share the pleasure of good food with good friends. Every other week I make it a point to have a gathering, where everyone brings the ingredients for a dish (or beverage), and we chat while we chop/saute/grill/etc. The result is a casual meal of fresh food, with good music and conversation for that extra bit of time during preparation. It’s much better than making everything yourself and then having everyone over to eat, because making the food is half the fun, at least for my friends and I!

I “share the pleasure of good food” with my friends, customers, and family members anytime I make something new and delicious. I always try to make food with a nutritious value to them. I also love to share my healthy sweet treats, especially ones made with dark chocolate. I also share my food because there is too much for just me. Food is one of our great pleasures in the world, so why not share it with others and bring them more joy?

My “problem” is I love to bake! My family loves it and so do all the people my husband works with. And then there is also all the teens my kids hang out with-they love coming to our house and I love cooking and baking for them.

I share the pleasure of good food through cooking, conversation, and shared meals, whether at home or not! I like helping people learn how gluten- and dairy-free doesn’t mean taste- or pleasure-free –or super expensive, either!

In one years time three of my family members, including me, found out that we had a gluten intolerance. The way I have shared my pleasure of good “gluten-free” food is to make each of them a basket with all of my favorite gluten free items, recipes, and resources.
July 29th, 2009 at 7:07 pm
To share the pleasure of good food I blog gluten free and post my recipes to share with fellow gluten free bloggers!

One of the things I taught my now gluten free son (Mom shared the bad things too) is to make guacamole. He now out – does his Mom. These would go wonderfully with HIS guacamole. (one less thing I have to make for family get-togethers!)

I share the pleasure of good food by baking. I absolutly love being in the kitchen and cooking for others. I’m gluten free, and so is my mom, so I love baking up something amazing like brownies or banana bread for her, that taste even better than ones containing gluten. I love seeing people smile and enjoy the food I make, it’s such a great feeling!
July 30th, 2009 at 9:49 am
I look forward for opportunities to share yummy gluten-free food with people that may not have had any other occasion to try it. I love when people realize how good it can taste!
July 30th, 2009 at 12:39 pm
Thse chips look like they’d be great for our monthly game night!
It’s potluck and I always try to bring a new gluten free recipe to share- it’s the best when someone new is there and can’t even tell what I brought is gluten free.
July 30th, 2009 at 1:48 pm
I “share the pleasure of good food” by cooking for people, talking about food, sharing recipes… I pretty much can’t help it! We split a CSA share with a friend, and often the “split” happens when he comes over and eats with us! Friends who drop by to play will stay to eat, and even my young children have started extending invitations.
I’m learning to bake wheat-free (often, but not always, gluten-free) and just made cupcakes for the first time ever!

I share the pleasure of good food by always making extra for family and friends.
July 30th, 2009 at 2:12 pm
I really enjoy cooking gluten free and seeing everyone’s looks when they try something that just tastes good.
July 30th, 2009 at 2:17 pm
I share the pleasure of good food by cooking for my family whenever I can, and limiting the amount that we eat out. These chip flavors sound intriguing, especially olive and caper!
July 30th, 2009 at 4:08 pm
I love to cook for my friends and I make and buy a variety of gf products so they can see that my diet isn’t really that restricted.
July 30th, 2009 at 5:04 pm
I share by showing how much I still enjoy food even though I’m on a gf diet. I love sharing how many different foods and exciting discoveries I’ve made since going gf. No one in my family has complained about the shift in our dinnertime menus at all.
Thanks for the chance to win!

I cook for my family every meal and everyday, I also have friends over atleast once a month.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:08 pm
I “share the pleasure of good food” by reminding my gluten-free family members (and myself, sometimes!) of all the wonderful, delicious foods and dishes out there that are NATURALLY gluten-free. If you focus on what you CAN have instead of what you can’t, there’s a big, wide, delicious-food world out there – enjoy!!

There are a handful of co-workers that share some of the same food allergies. I love testing new recipes or products and then share the goods with my co-workers. They really appreciate that I have done all the homework for them!
July 31st, 2009 at 11:33 am
When I find a product that is allergey free, I share with my friends and others on my blog. Blogging about it hopefullly helps others, but it also helps me keep track of what products work for us. Finding companies that make good, safe products, without breaking the bank is important to me since my son has been diagnosed with mulitple food allergies.

Hello. I just wanted to say that I was the winner of those Laurel Hill Tortillo Chips and they were fantastic!! I loved the Pepita and Spice the best (that hint of Pumpkin flavor was wow). They are all great and I would buy them hands down…I just have to find them now in a local store, I’ve looked but still haven’t been able to locate them anywhere. If you get the chance to, go buy some because you won’t be disappointed.
Thanks,
Sharon P.
