Win-It-Wednesday: Oloves
As I am writing this blog post, I am traveling on a JetBlue airplane. It’s been a frantic morning of packing, getting to the airport on time, and getting through the crazy security lines at Logan Airport. But finally, the big bird is in the sky… and there is a glimmer of love in my eye. Why, you ask? The answer is one simple word: Oloves.
JetBlue has a gluten-free “meal box” option on their planes. (YES… GLUTEN-FREE!… and also vegetarian and kosher). It is called the “Shape Up” box, and this gluten-free box of snacking goodness contains one of my favorite snacks of all time… Oloves.
Yes. I do have a love affair with olives. When others are grabbing a bag of chips, jelly beans or peanuts I am cracking open a can of olives. That is just how much I love them.
But what is an on-the-go-olive-loving gal to do when she needs an olive-fix on the go? Oloves to the rescue!
I am so excited that Oloves, snack packs of perfectly marinated olives that are the perfect grab and go nibble, is the sponsor of this Win-It-Wednesday on BeFreeForMe.com. And Two (Yes 2!) lucky winners will each win a prize packed with 10 packages of Oloves!
At only 50 calories per pack, these quick, easy, healthy, low calorie and tasty olives are full of flavor and do not contain any of the major allergens, or gluten. They are perfect for travel, lunchboxes, picnics, and an office afternoon snack. No stones, no fuss… Oloves are the perfect gluten-free snack.
I have only tried the Tasty Mediterranean variety, seasoned with basil & garlic, but Oloves also make a Hot Chili Mama, heated up with habanero peppers, and the Lemony Lover, packed with lemon and garlic.
How can you win?
Easy!
Reply to this blog and tell me how you “Share the Love”? (Me? I was at the market yesterday and gave the young cashier who was on her break, and in-line in front of me at the register $2.00 to pay for her muffin when her debit card was refused. Why? Because every time I am in that market she is smiling & friendly).
Good luck, share the love and goodness in your heart, and, as always…
Be Free!
P.S. Not traveling on Jetblue? No worries! Ask your local grocer for them… or you can also find Oloves on Amazon.com. =)

I try to help people by listening whenever someone has a hard day, I listen and then try to help if I can.

I like to buy coffee for homeless during the winter season. I see them standing outside cold (not the ones begging for money but those who are just down and you can tell the difference of those who are moochers and those who need help) it gets -20 here sometimes colder and a cup of coffee warms the body and the love warms the soul.

Two coworkers in my team had to come in very early (before 7:30) last week to perform some critical tasks. I also came in earlier to bring them breakfast. I felt good when I showed my appreciation.

Well We shared love on Easter by inviting over my wonderful single-mom friend and her little boy and enjoying a big meal with, of course, a veggie tray loaded with two kinds of olives!

I was at a store recently and the woman in front of me wanted to purchase some jewelry and was asking about coupons – and didn’t have one – so I offered her one of mine. She seemed very shocked but very grateful to get an additional 25% off her purchase.

Olives are a staple in my home. I add them to pasta, decorate my deviled eggs with them and love them in tomato juice.

These sound tasty! I “shared the love” at my local farmers market Saturday, one of the workers was telling me how he had been up since 4am and was starving. I had a gluten free bar that I was looking forward to eating, and instead I gave it to him to eat. He was so appreciative .

I cut my 88 yr. old mother’s toenails, since she can’t reach them. Then I put lotion on her. Then I take her to see her brother, my favorite uncle, at the res thome.

I try and “share the love” on a daily basis because I am a firm believer in Karma and being a part of the greater good in life! 🙂 This week I have purchased breakfast for my entire office to share the gift of a full tummy. I have donated food to our church organization for their mission trips. I have taken on more tasks outside of my job function to help others within my office. My husband and I threw a giant sleepover with our other family members kids to provide a “kid free”” night for their parents to relax and enjoy. And my favorite one of all I helped an elderly lady carry her grocery’s to her car and loaded them up for her, then helped her with her car door so she could get in, she was as sweet as pie. It’s these little things in life that are making me a better person as well as spreading the love to others! On the note of olives my family and I LOVE THEM! they are a must in our refrigerator my favorite are any that involve the taste of garlic~! 🙂

If I see you with the hood up on your vehicle I am going to stop and ask if you need some help. I know what it is like to be broke down and have no help on the way.

One of my friends lost her job and she could not keep her place. I offered her she can stay with me for a while until she finds some work. She stayed with me for a few monts and her present didn’t bother me.
It felt good to help her out.

I love to compliment people, especially when they are looking down. It’s great to see their face light up!

Sharing the love is a big part of keeping this world a happier place and can be done so simply. Each person is unique and special in his/her own way so every day I try to remind people of that. One of my favorite ways to share the love is by sending cards to people. Yes, I use the old snail mail because I believe there is nothing more special than opening a piece of mail personally addressed to you, knowing that someone not only took the time to pick out the card’s message but also write a little sentiment inside. Sending cards to those friends I talk to on a regular basis and even those I haven’t talked to in years is a special way for me to let people know they are loved.

I ask folks lots of questions about themselves and how they are doing/feeling. Sometimes they sound surprised to be asked. People do like to talk about themselves!

My mother-in-law is 80 and lives alone with her small dog. My husband and I installed a new screen door for her with a “doggie door” so she doesn’t have to be continually getting up to let the dog in or out.

I always like to ask cashiers how they are doing. They are usually surprised I’m interested but happy to talk for a few minutes.

I often visit my 90 year old neighbor, often bringing my cat with me. I also try to hold doors for people. I try to talk to children shopping with their Moms especially if they are fussing or crying.

When I go visit my favorite uncle in the horrible rest home he’s in, I bring him his favorite candy that he eats immediately. I always pour him and other patients there ice water that they would otherwise not get. I get him extra food when he’s hungry. I also talk to the staff and tell them I appreciate what they do. I try to cheer everyone I come into contact there. (I’m a very shy person, so I become someone else while there “to do unto others”.

I have a special place in my heart for seniors. Just recently I helped a woman make her way to the door of her salon. She had some trouble walking and was very happy to have someone to hold on to and have a chat with.

A smile to EVERYONE and a hug when needed goes a long way to making peoples days a little brighter. And to say nothing of your own; it’s hard to be a grump when your smiling!

I saw that Mary says hello to cashiers and asks how they are doing. That is so nice. People love to be viewed as persons not a machine that dispenses what you want.

I took my kiddos to the park yesterday and we had extra bread for the ducks and a couple other kids had non so we shared ours with them. Felt good to see them smiling.

I like to surprise people so I brought the Sunday School class Coffee and muffins. In the summer I hand out cold bottles of water at the park. Keep a cooler in your trunk with ice and water bottles in it.
