Baked Apple Rings
These are great over oatmeal or yogurt in the morning… or vanilla ice cream for dessert! Kids love them – so it is a great way to get them to eat fruit. Yum!
¼ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 tablespoons butter (melted)
2 tablespoons lemon juice
4 medium cooking apples
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Combine first two ingredients in one dish and the next two in another. Core and peel apples. Cut off the ends and then slice each apple crosswise into rings that are about 1/2” thick.
Coat the both sides of the apple rings with the butter mixture and then dip into the cinnamon-sugar to coat both sides.
Arrange on a baking pan. Bake about 15 minutes, turning once, or until apples are tender and golden brown.
