Blush Sangria
A classic summer patio cocktail. Toss in extra fruit as a garnish. Add a couple of friends and enjoy!
1/3 cup super fine sugar
¾ cups hot water
1 limes, thinly sliced
1 oranges, thinly sliced
½ lemon, thinly sliced
Ice cubes (a couple of handfuls)
½ cups triple sec
One 750-milliliter bottles dry rose wine
1 cup club soda
1 cup fresh pineapple chunks, for garnish
1 cup hulled and halved strawberries, for garnish
Place sugar in a medium heat resistant bowl and pour the hot water over it, stirring so the sugar dissolves. Add the limes, oranges and lemon. Cover and let sit at room temperature for at least 4 hours, or refrigerate overnight.
Fill one large pitcher with one tray of ice cubes. Pour sugar syrup, triple sec, wine and club soda and stir gently.
To serve, place some strawberry halves and pineapple chunks in each wine glass, and pour the sangria over. Enjoy!
Serve 4.
