Outback Steakhouse Shrimp on the Barbie



Dairy Free Nut Free Gluten Free 

A favorite at Outback Steak House for those on a gluten-free diet! Now enjoy this recipe at home, for a fraction of the cost! Great as an appetizer or a main course.

24 peeled deveined extra large shrimp
2 tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning (Check label for allergens!)
2 tablespoon light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
¼ to 1/2 cup butter
2-3 crushed garlic cloves
Salt and pepper, to taste 

Thread 6 shrimp close together on a wooden or metal skewer. (Note: If using a wooden skewer make sure they have been soaked in water for 1-2 hours prior to using).

In a small bowl, combine the Old Bay Seasoning, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder and the cumin. Set aside.

In a small saucepan, melt the butter with the garlic. Season with salt and pepper.

Brush 1 side of shrimp with 1/2 the garlic butter, and then sprinkle with 1/2 the Spice Rub.

Grill or broil shrimp 3 minutes; turn and brush with remaining garlic butter and sprinkle with remaining spice rub. Cook another 3-4 minutes until shrimp are cooked through.

Serves 4 as a main course.
